An exhibition developed by the Canadian Museum of History (Gatineau, Canada), in partnership with Parks Canada Agency and with the National Maritime Museum (London, United Kingdom), and in collaboration with the Government of Nunavut and the Inuit Heritage Trust.
This traveling exhibition was a collaboration with the Mystic Seaport Museum. The exhibit tells the story of the mystery of the Franklin Expedition, a British excursion that set two ships, the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror, on a one-way trip to the Arctic. Mysteries surround the expedition, as the final fate of the ships is still being uncovered. Inuit oral histories have proven invaluable in piecing the mystery together and the discovery of the Erebus in 2014 and the Terror in 2016 are helping fill in the story.
